Eagles Volleyball Opens Up Weekend WIth A Win

The Emory University women's volleyball team opened the 2026 season with a 3-0 victory over Pfeiffer on Friday night at Woodruff Arena. The Eagles earned set victories of 25-21, 25-20 and 25-12 to begin the season 1-0. Emory finished the match with 38 kills on 112 attacks while hitting .179 as a team. The Eagles also recorded 36 assists, six service aces and 55 digs. Pfeiffer finished with 19 kills, 14 assists, two aces and 48 digs.

Ella Moore led the Emory attack with 13 kills on 25 attacks, posting a .480 hitting percentage. She also recorded 14 digs and a service aces. Sydney Kennedy contributed six kills, two aces and one block, while Sophia Luo added five kills and two blocks. Skylar Giuliani finished with five kills and a team-high four blocks. Gabija Staniskis recorded three blocks, while Emory totaled five team blocks.

Norah McNichols directed the Emory offense with 23 assists, while Carolina Ufret added 10 assists. Ufret also finished with 11 digs and two service aces. McNichols contributed four digs and one ace.

The Eagles hit .136 in the opening set while recording 14 kills and pulled away for a 25-21 victory. Emory followed with 11 kills and a .194 hitting percentage in the second set, overcoming a 20-20 tie to take the set 25-20.

Emory closed out the match with its strongest offensive performance of the night in the third set. The Eagles recorded 13 kills while hitting .216 and held Pfeiffer to four kills and a -.100 hitting percentage in the 25-12 victory. Emory finished the match with a 38-19 advantage in kills and a 36-14 edge in assists. The Eagles also held advantages in service aces, 6-2, and digs, 55-48.
