The Emory University men's soccer team went on the road and secured a 3-0 victory at Huntingdon College Tuesday night in Montgomery, Alabama.
Three different Eagles found the back of the net as the Eagles improved to 6-1-2 while the defense held the Hawks to just one shot attempt in 90 minutes, picking up the team's third clean sheet in the past four games and dropping Huntingdon to 1-4-5 on the season.
Despite a 24-1 margin in offensive attempts, the Eagles did all of their damage in the second half to break open the scoreless halftime draw.
In his first game back from injury, senior Lorenzo Avalos wasted no time in finding the scoring column as he cracked the scoreboard first for Emory as he put the road Eagles in front in the 57th minute.
Later in the half, classmate Nick Carrano notched his second goal in as many games to extend the lead in the 73rd minute before sophomore Jeremiah Cateau provided the finishing touches with third goal of the campaign in the 86th minute.
The Eagles will be back in Atlanta this Saturday as University Athletic Association play opens at the WoodPEC with Emory welcoming No. 20 ranked Carnegie Mellon for the conference opener. Kickoff is slated for 11:30 AM.
