For the 25^th consecutive season, the Emory University women's swimming & diving team was among the nation's best at the end of the year with the Eagles recording their third national runner-up finish in the last five seasons.

The 2025-26 campaign marked Emory's 23^rd top five national finish under Head Coach Jon Howell and the team's fifth national runner-up performance in team history as well as the 25^th straight time the Eagles placed either sixth or higher at the NCAA Championships.

At the 2026 NCAA Championships at the IU Natatorium, the Eagles notched 433.5 points on the strength of two national championships, two program records, 19 First Team All-America honors as well as 11 Second Team All-America efforts.

Junior transfer Emma Lunn excelled for the Eagles during her first season donning an Emory cap and became one of the team's standouts across the four days in Indianapolis, Indiana. On the final day of competition, Lunn etched her name into Emory women's swimming & diving lore as she claimed the team's lone individual national title of the meet with her performance in the 200 Backstroke. Lunn finished her stellar debut season with the Eagles with four All-America performances including two podium showings.

To go along with Lunn's national championship, the Eagles had a standout performance in the 200 Medley Relay the previous evening with the group of Penny Celtnieks, Katie Cohen, Allison Greeneway and Ava Kennedy capturing gold for Emory with a race for the ages. Trailing heading into the final leg, Kennedy threw down a blistering 21.85 freestyle split to overtake Kenyon for the national title.

Additionally, Cohen and graduate student Sammi Thiele were individual stars for the Eagles with Cohen finishing as the national runner-up in both the 100 and 200 Breaststrokes, smashing both school records in the process, and Thiele reaching the podium with top-five showings in the 200 IM and 100 Backstroke while being part of four relay teams that finished on the podium to give her a team-high six All-America First Team honors.

Ahead of the national championships in March, the Emory divers put on a showcase in their final appearances at the Woodruff PE Center with top efforts at the NCAA Regional Championships. Graduate student Ariana Khan swept both regional titles while senior Ren Watt and sophomore Maya Kriz qualified for nationals with their regional showings.

Prior to the Eagles making waves on the national stage, Emory went toe-to-toe with eventual national champions New York University at the conference level with the University Athletic Association foes putting on a historic clash at the conference championships in Chicago, Illinois in February.

Going into the meet, the Eagles had won every UAA championship going back to 1998 and would need a monumental performance from a challenger to be upended. The Violets did just that with NYU claiming 10 event titles across the four-day meet to narrowly upend the Eagles by a score of 1,900-1,885 to end Emory's generational run of 26 consecutive conference titles. The 15-point margin of victory represented the closest on the women's side in UAA history.

In Chicago, the Eagles captured five individual event championships as well as a win in the 200 Medley Relay while tallying 23 All-UAA finishes. Cohen paced the Gold caps with individual titles in both breaststroke events while additional conference titles were won by Celtnieks in the 100 Backstroke, Greeneway in the 200 IM and Meredith Liu in the 1,650 Freestyle.

Emory's season was also highlighted by performances in the classroom as the Eagles came through with a nation's leading 25 CSCAA Scholar All-Americans including 20 First Team selections.
