The Emory University softball team had an incredible day against UAA foe NYU, winning game one 13-0 and game two 5-1 to start the final road series of the season for the Eagles.
Freshman pitcher
Sydney Thune recorded the 18
th no hitter in program history against the Violets in game one, throwing a complete game with no runs and no hits along with seven strikeouts in the 13-0 win.
Game 1: Emory 13, NYU 0
The Eagles got on the board early as
Ella Janish scored leadoff hitter
Ashley Chu on a single RBI.
Ella Hoyle tacked on another pair of runs at the end of the inning as she scored Janish and
Megan Sutton on an error from the first baseman to give the Eagles the 3-0 advantage.
The fourth run for Emory came off Sutton's bat the following inning as she batted in a single to score Chu and make it 4-0.
After one and a half scoreless innings, the Eagles delivered a four-run frame in the away half of the fourth.
Shea Johnson got the party started as she scored
Allie Stevenson on an RBI single before
Ellie Zerr scored Johnson on a bases-loaded walk. On the next at bat, Janish scored Chu once again on an error while catcher
Lillian Ware reached on a fielder's choice to let Sutton cross the plate, bringing the score to 8-0.
The top of the fifth saw another monster frame from the Eagles as they put up five runs to run-rule the Violets.

Olivia Kohler to get the scoring started before Janish scored Chu on an RBI single.
Addison Kwong ended the game in dominant fashion for the Eagles, hammering in a 3 RBI double to score Hoyle, Ware and Janish, making it 13-0 to end the game in the fifth inning.
Game 2: Emory 5, NYU 1
The Eagles got on the board early once again as Chu scored on a pass ball and
Zoe Horning scored Sutton on a sac fly to give Emory the 2-0 lead.
NYU's lone run of the game came in the bottom of the second on a fielder's choice, bringing the score to 2-1.
The third inning went scoreless on both sides before a Stevenson RBI double and a Sutton RBI single put the Eagles ahead by three runs on going into the fifth.
After another stretch of scoreless innings, Emory tacked on their final run in the top of the seventh as an RBI single from Kwong scored
Marisol Gonzalez to give the Eagles the 5-1 win.
Emory will look to sweep the series tomorrow night, taking on the Violets at 7:00 p.m.
