2024-25 Emory Women’s Basketball Season Recap

The Emory University women's basketball saw their ninth consecutive winning season, another under head coach Misha Jackson.
 
The Eagles finished the 2024-25 season with a 15-10 overall record and a 7-7 record in conference play while going 6-4 in Atlanta this season. Emory finished second in the UAA in opponent three-point percentage holding opponents to just 26.0 during the season while ranking third in the UAA in free throw percentage (72.6).
 
The 2024-25 season started on the road with a win over LaGrange followed by a close loss to then-ranked No. 7 Washington & Lee at the Emory Tip Off Classic. The Eagles finished the tournament with a massive win over Oberlin College before ending the fall semester on a 3-1 run.
 
Returning after winter break, Emory saw a 100-57 win against Piedmont before closing non-conference play with another win over Oglethorpe. The Eagles struggled through the first two games of conference play starting 0-2 against Rochester and NYU before ending their roadtrip with a win over Brandeis. In the home conference opener, Emory took a big win against then-ranked No. 21 Chicago before later taking another ranked win against No. 25 Carnegie Mellon. The Eagles finished conference play with a 4-4 run to finish the season with a 7-7 conference record.
 
Two Eagles led the way this season with sophomore Alexandra Loucopoulos stepping up as the leader of the program. Also helping lead the team in her first season with Emory was graduate transfer Hanna Malik.
 
Loucopoulos earned her first career-selection to the D3hoops.com All-Region team and became the 12th Eagle in program history to be selected for the honor. She quickly established herself as the leading scorer for Emory this season pacing the team with 11.8 points per game and 295 total points for the season. She posted a 43.4 field goal percentage making 116 total while making 24 three pointers this season. Loucopoulos notched 44 steals during the 2024-25 season which ranked 5th in the UAA while finishing second on the team with 39 free throws made. During the final game of the season against Rochester (Mar. 1), she notched a career-high 22 points while shooting 4-7 from beyond the arc. Earlier in the season, Loucopoulos earned her first All-UAA selection after being selected for First Team honors after her efforts in conference play this season.
 
In her first season with the Eagles, Malik became one of the best three-point shooters on the Emory squad. She ranked 15th in the conference this season averaging 10.8 points per game while totaling 151 total points. Malik paced the team with 29 three-point baskets made which finished third in the conference. She was one of the most efficient Eagles under the net totaling 53 rebounds, 15 offensive and averaged 3.4 rebounds per game.
