Emory University freshman Tatum Olson has been recognized by D3hoops.com by being selected as the Region VI Rookie of the Year as well as an All-Region Third Team choice.
This comes on the heels of Olson being tabbed as the University Athletic Association Rookie of the Year as well as an All-UAA First Team pick. Olson is the second player in team history to earn regional Rookie of the Year honors from D3hoops.com and the first since Hannah Lilly in 2011.
Olson was an offensive catalyst for the Eagles during her rookie campaign as she started 24 of 25 games. She finished as Emory's leading scorer with 16.1 points per game, with her 402 points making her just the 12th player in team history to reach 400 points in a single season. Her PPG figure was the best amongst rookies in the UAA and tied for sixth across all freshmen in Division III. Olson averaged a team-leading 28.1 minutes per game and ended the year shooting 43.6% from the floor, third-best total inside the UAA, and was 60-for-138 from three-point distance for a UAA-leading 43.5%.
