The Emory University women's golf program is raising the trophy once again following a historic run at the 2025 NCAA Championships this week at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. Along with the team championship, sophomore
Carys Code became the second Eagle in program history to win the individual national title with her NCAA record breaking performance.
The victory at Kingsmill is the second national championship in program history and the Eagles join Methodist and Rhodes as the only women's golf programs to win multiple national titles in Division III history. Along with that, the Eagles set a new national record at the championships with a four-day total score of 1168 (+16), breaking its own previous record of 1175 set at the 2022 championships. Emory also recorded the two lowest team rounds in NCAA DIII tournament history with 287 on Wednesday and 289 on Thursday.
Code entered her name in the NCAA history books as well establishing an NCAA DIII championship record with her four-day total of 285 beating Carnegie Mellon's Cecilia Jia by two strokes. She fell into a tie for first place following the third round but dominated her way through the fourth round on Friday shooting a 71 (-1) including 15 pars and two birdies to clinch her victory.
Following Code with another top-five finish was freshman
Zimo Li who was named the WGCA DIII Freshman of the Year on Thursday afternoon. She also shot a 71 (-1) on Friday afternoon in the final round to finish with a 289 (+1) and a fourth place finish in the individual leaderboard. During the fourth round, Li recorded four birdies and three bogeys to secure her top-five finish.
Earning one of her best finishes at the NCAA championships was sophomore
Esther Jung who finished in a tie for 17
th individually with a four-day score of 297 (+9). During Friday's round, she struggled through the front nine with four bogeys but ended with a birdie before shooting seven pars on the back nine to finish with a 77 (+5).
Senior
Ellen Dong, the first individual national champion in program history, stayed consistent during the fourth round on Friday finishing in a tie for 43
rd with a final score of 301 (+13). She opened the front nine with two birdies and a bogey to shoot one under and finished with two birdies and three pars on the back nine for a fourth round score of 74 (+2).
Ending the day for the Eagles was fellow senior
Sharon Mun who finished the tournament in a tie for 72
nd with a score of 305 (+17). She finished the tournament on Friday with a 79 (+7) shooting six pars on the front nine and finished with five more on the back.
