2025-26 Emory Women's Golf Season Recap

The 2025-26 season proved to be another banner year for the Emory University women's golf program as the Eagles captured their second consecutive national championship as well as their third in the last five years.

Emory was spearheaded by the dynamic play of sophomore Zimo Li who became the first player in team history to be chosen as the WGCA Division III National Player of the Year as well as newcomer Amanda Zheng who was Emory's second straight recipient of the WGCA Division III National Freshman of the Year.

Led by the trio of First Team All-Americans in Li, Zheng, as well as junior Carys Code, the Eagles dominated the schedule with nine top five team finishes including team titles at the Tartan Invitational, The Hollins Cup, The Historic Triangle Invitational and Deb Jackson Invitational before setting national records at the NCAA Championships in Palm Desert, California.

For the second year in a row, the Eagles rewrote the national record books en route to lifting the Walnut & Bronze once more. Across the four-day competition, Emory established a new NCAA tournament record with a score of 1,154, breaking its previous record by 14 strokes. Li and Zheng led the way as they tied for seventh on the individual leaderboard and were joined in the top 10 by Code who placed ninth overall.

Zheng paced the team with three individual medalist performances while Li boasted top 10 individual performance in each of her tournament appearances, including an individual title at the Space Coast Classic where she competed against an entire Division I field.

In addition to the team and individual wins, Code and Li established new single-round program records with scores of 66 during the Tartan Invitational with Code also setting a new two-round team record with 137 at the same tournament. The Tartan Invitational also proved to be a team record-setting environment as the Eagles set new single-round (273) and two-round (557) team records.

To go along with their recognition on the national and regional level, Li and Zheng claimed the University Athletic Association top honors and joined Code on the All-UAA First Team.

The Eagles also excelled in the classroom with Code and Li being chosen to the Academic All-America First Team by the College Sports Communicators organization and saw five team members named All-America Scholars by the WGCA in the summer.
