The Emory University baseball team continued its weekend series in Cleveland but the Case Western Reserve Spartans kept its momentum going by taking game three by a 13-3 margin.
Sophomore
Aidan Conley launched his team-leading eighth home run in the top of the first and classmate
Jake Lawson added to the scoring with a RBI single in the second to give the Eagles an early 2-0 lead.
CWRU tacked on one in both the third and fifth to even the score at 2-2 prior to Conley putting the Eagles back on top with his run-scoring fielder's choice in the sixth.
Emory's 3-2 lead would not last for long as the Spartans busted out with a six-run spot in the bottom of the sixth.
The Spartans added additional runs in the seventh and eighth to reach the 10-run rule.
Lawson recorded a team-high three hits, going 3-for-4 with a double. Senior
Brok Liu added two hits and Conley drove in two to go along with his round tripper.
The Eagles will look to avoid the sweep on Sunday as the finale is set to start at 11:00 AM at Nobby's Ballpark.
