#13 Women’s Basketball Completes 100-Point Domination of Agnes Scott

The Emory University women's basketball program reached the 100-point mark again on Tuesday evening against the Agnes Scott Scotties in Atlanta, Georgia.
 
The Eagles improve to 6-0 on the season and complete back-to-back 100-point games for the very first time in program history. Emory scored 37 points in the first quarter marking the most points in a quarter in program history and also set a record for most points in a half with 68. The Eagles also saw six players reach double-digit points also tying a program record.
 
Emory jumped to an early three-point shooting party with teammates Alexandra Loucopoulos and Tatum Olson landing three in the first two and half minutes of the quarter. Junior Mary Mullinax scored six points of her own in the next two minutes while the Scotties earned their first three of the day at the 4:55 mark. The Eagles' defense was rolling and held Agnes Scott scoreless for the rest of the quarter while going on a 15-0 run to end the first quarter with a 37-8 lead.
 
The defense continued into the second quarter holding the Scotties in a drought for three minutes while back-to-back layups from freshman Savannah Seawell gave Emory its biggest lead of the day thus far at 41 points. Agnes Scott started battling to keep up with the Eagles but were hit by turnovers pushing Emory to a 68-20 lead going into the locker room.
 
Olson and classmate Mia Strazza were exchanging baskets in the opening of the third quarter with Olson landing two more three pointers followed by one from senior Lily Kennedy with 3:51 remaining on the clock for an 82-32 Emory lead. The Eagles finished the quarter with a 10-7 run capitalized by another three from Olson.
 
Senior Chloe Kreusser opened the fourth quarter with two free throws and a layup pushing the Eagles to 97 points. After a scoreless minute from Emory, freshman Lauren Walsh broke the 100-point barrier with a three pointer and followed with a layup for a 58-point lead. The Scotties offense was quiet for the rest of the third quarter with the Eagles finishing with a 10-4 run for a 118-51 victory.
 
The Eagles will take a break for the holidays before returning to the court on Wednesday. December 3rd where they will face the LaGrange College Panthers at 6:00 PM in Atlanta, Georgia.
