Four Emory University Eagles were recognized Monday afternoon with their selections as University Athletic Association for their performances during the week of November 3-9. In the pool, sophomore Allison Greeneway and senior Henri Bonnault swept the swimming honors while on the court, seniors Olivia Rabinowitz and Kaya Monrose made it clean volleyball sweep.
Greeneway was an event winner in the 200 IM and was part of three different relay wins for the Eagles as Emory won its home Fall Invitational this past weekend in Atlanta. In the 200 IM, Greeneway recorded the fastest time in Division III so far this season at 2:02.80. In the relays, Greeneway was part of winning teams in the 200 Freestyle (1:33.56), 400 Medley (3:46.12) and 200 Medley (1:42.50) with times in the 200 Freestyle and 400 Medley ranking as the fastest so far in DIII. Furthermore, Greeneway was second in both the 100 Fly (55.83) and 100 Breaststroke (1:04.54) with her now ranking third and sixth, respectively, in both events.
Bonnault was one of Emory's top performers this past weekend as the Eagles won their home Fall Invitational on the men's side. Bonnault claimed both breaststroke events at the meet as he turned in the fastest times so far in Division III in both the 100 Breast (52.96) and 200 Breaststroke (1:58.45), and became the first person to go under 2:00 in the 200 so far this season. Bonnault added a win as part of Emory's 200 Medley Relay as the Eagles recorded DIII's fastest mark at 1:42.50. He was also part of Emory's second place finish in the 400 Medley Relay (3:15.45), the Eagles' C team in the 200 Freestyle Relay that place fifth at 1:23.43 and was 23rd in the 50 Freestyle at 22.40.
Monrose had a career best weekend at the Emory Invitational leading the Eagles to a 4-0 finish to the regular season, including three wins over ranked opponents. She totaled 68 kills on the weekend including back-to-back career-highs in matches against Washington & Lee and Berry on Saturday. Monrose also posted six total blocks including three solo blocks against Randolph-Macon.
Rabinowitz celebrated reaching 2,500 career assists this weekend while helping the Eagles to a perfect weekend at home. She totaled 162 assists through four games and notched a career-high 50 assists on Saturday against Berry.
