Seven Eagles Tabbed as UAA Athletes of the Week

Seven members of the Emory University men's tennis and swimming & diving teams were recognized this week for their standout performances during the week of September 29 – October 6.

For men's tennis, three Eagles were honored after collecting regional titles while swimming & diving swept all four weekly honors as they returned to competition for the first time in 2025-26.

Sophomore Ruilin Feng earned his first ITA South Regional singles championship this past weekend as he won all six of his matches in straight sets. Feng defeated opponents from Centre, Berry and Sewanee prior to topping teammates Matthew Johnstone and Dean Kamenev in the semifinals and finals. Additionally, Feng advanced to the round of 16 in doubles as he played alongside Kamenev.

The doubles tandem of Johnstone and sophomore Ajay Kartik captured the ITA South Regional title Monday evening, defeating teammates John Lasanajak and Daniel Kim 6-2, 6-4 in the championship match. Johnstone and Kartik did not drop more than four games in any of their four matches in their run to the finals before securing the straight set victory.
