The Emory University volleyball program fought hard against the Trinity Tigers on Friday afternoon but fell in three sets at the WoodPEC in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to the match, the Eagles celebrated the nine seniors for senior night.

The Eagles now hold a 13-4 overall record following the matchup and are 3-3 against ranked opponents this season. Senior
Eliane Silberman shined on senior night posting 11 kills and three blocks while fellow senior
Olivia Rabinowitz totaled 22 assists putting her just 133 away from 2,500 career assists.

Set one opened with a battle with both teams eventually holding the advantage. After the Eagles took a slight 6-5 lead, the Tigers scored nine straight points for a dominant 14-6 lead halfway through the set. Emory looked for a fight following with a 6-3 for a 17-12 deficit but Trinity wouldn't let up and later took their 20
th point of the set. Despite the Eagles finishing with a 6-5 run, the Tigers clinched the first set, 25-18.

Another battle occurred at the start of the second set with the Tigers pulling away with the one-point, 6-5 lead. They followed with an 8-1 run looking for a 10-point lead but Emory continued to push keeping Trinity to a nine-point deficit. With a 23-14 score, the Eagles were able to take advantage of attack errors from the Tigers' offense for their 18
th point but Trinity scored two more points for another 25-18 win in set two.

The third set proved to be tighter than any seeing 12 ties and six lead changes. Emory started strong with a 6-4 lead on kills from Silberman and fellow senior
Kate LaRocco but the Tigers kept pushing to reclaim an 8-7 lead. The next few points of the match saw four ties until Trinity took five straight points for a 16-13 advantage. The Eagles didn't stop there and eventually tied the set at 19 apiece but the Tigers finished with a 6-3 run to clinch the three-set win, 25-22.

The Eagles will take the week off before heading to Chicago, Illinois for the final UAA Round Robin Tournament of the season. Emory will face Rochester on Sunday, October 26 at 10:00 AM and WashU at 2:00 PM.
