Emory freshman O'Dez Oradeu scored 12 of her season-high 14 points in the second half to pace five double-figure scorers as the Eagles came away with a win at Huntingdon College Wednesday afternoon.  Emory, playing in its first game since Dec. 6, upped its overall record to 7-2 with an 80-48 decision over the Hawks who slipped to 3-3.

Oradeu, whose previous high was seven points, hit five-of-seven field goal attempts and four free throws.  She also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.   Sophomore Hannah Lilly assisted in the victory with 12 points while juniors Misha Jackson and Emily Hyncik each chipped in 11 points with Jackson snatching eight boards.  Sophomore Savannah Morgan rounded out the team's double-figure scorers with 10 points, all of which came in the second half.

Emory ended the contest shooting 48.5 percent (32-of-66) from the floor while holding the host Hawks to just 25.8 percent (16-of-62).   The Eagles connected on 52.9 percent (18-of-34) of their field goal tries over the final 20 minutes of action, including 38.4 percent from three-point range, in posting a 45-20 scoring advantage. 

After a basket by HC's Morgan Crawford cut an Emory lead to 60-47 with 7:12 remaining in the game, the Eagles closed out the contest on a 20-1 run with Oradeu picking up 10 points in that stretch while Lilly accounted for six points on a pair of three-point field goals.  Huntingdon missed its last 11 field goal attempts over the final 7:12 while Emory converted eight-of-11 opportunities.

Emory started out the affair on fire, sinking 10 of its first 15 from the floor, and used seven points from senior Becca Feldman and six from Jackson, to race to a 23-10 lead with 11:44 left in the first half.  However, Huntingdon battled back by holding Emory scoreless for a little over five minutes in drawing to within one point.   The Eagles regrouped and got a pair of treys from Hyncik, along with a buzzer-beating layup by Feldman, her eighth and ninth points of the stanza, to take a 35-28 edge into halftime.    

Back-to-back triples by Morgan and Hyncik in the early moments of the second stanza helped propel Emory to a 13-3 scoring blitz that extended its lead to 48-31 with 14:21 left in the contest.  From that point, the closest the Hawks would be able to get was 12 points at 56-44 with 9:34 on the clock.  Hyncik concluded the afternoon knocking down a season-high tying three three-point field goals in seven tries. 

Emory returns to action next Monday (Jan. 2) when it plays at LaGrange College in a 2:00 p.m. start.
