ITA Regional Scoreboard
On the final day of action, Emory University senior Dillon Pottish captured his third straight ITA Regional singles title Sunday afternoon, defeating a pair of teammates en route to the crown.
Pottish, the No. 2 seed, met freshman Eric Halpern in the semifinals and recorded a 6-2, 6-2, victory sending him into the title match against No. 1 seed Chris Goodwin. In a rematch of last spring's NCAA D-III Singles Championship, Pottish topped Goodwin, 6-3, 6-0. Goodwin earned his spot in the championship encounter following a 6-2, 6-2, triumph over freshman teammate Alex Ruderman. By virtue of his championship performance, Pottish claims All-America honors and will advance to the ITA National Small College Championship, Oct. 13-16, in Mobile, Alabama. In addition, Pottish becomes the first player in school history to win three ITA Regional Singles titles.
Emory had a pair of doubles teams fall in the semifinals in the 'A' Draw as Goodwin, along with Humphreys, the No. 1 seed, fell to the Rhodes duo of Morgan Slevin and Ryley Erhardt, 6-8, while Pottish and junior Elliot Kahler fell by a 6-8 score to the North Carolina Wesleyan tandem of Alexey Rumyantsev and Robert Kjellberg.
Sophomore Max Kaye came away with a title as he registered a first-place finish in the 'B' Singles, defeating junior teammate Dylan Wright, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, in the finals.
