Biography

Senior (2011):

Samuels earned a spot on the all-University Athletic Association(UAA) first team during his senior campaign, finishing theyear third on the team with five goals and 12 points.  Herecorded the 36th hat trick in the program's history on September24th, scoring all three goals during the Eagles' 3-0 homecoming winover Berry College.  On September 16th against VirginiaWesleyan College, Samuels scored just 18 seconds into the contest,giving him the second-fastest goal in the program's history. He added an assist in the game, helping Emory to a 5-0 win over theMarlins.  In conference play, the forward scored a goalagainst Case Western Reserve University on October 14th, andassisted on the game-winning goal against Brandeis University onOctober 28th.  He finished the season with 28 shots, 13 ofwhich were on goal.  Samuels ended his career with 18 goalsand 18 assists for 54 points over 60 games, including 43starts.  He ranks sixth in school history with sevengame-winning goals, 18th with 0.3 assists per game, and 20th with0.9 points per game over his career.

Junior (2010):

Samuels was named to the NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-SouthAtlantic Region Third Team, and an honorable mention to theall-University Athletic Association (UAA) Team.  He led allEmory players with eight assists during the season, while finishingtied for second on the squad with 20 points, and third with sixgoals.  His 0.53 assists per game was the 25th-best mark amongNCAA Division III players, while his eight assists ranked him51st.  Samuels recorded a streak of eight-consecutive gameswith at least one point scored from September 4th - 25th,and registered a point in 10 of 11 games from September 4th -October 12th.  He finished the year with two game-winninggoals, coming in back-to-back games against the University ofChicago on October 9th, and Oglethorpe University on October12th.  Samuels also assisted on a team-best five game-winninggoals, the second-best single-season total in Emoryhistory.  His eight career game-winning assists at the end ofhis junior season are the fourth-most in the program'shistory, and three shy of the school record.  Over his 15games played during the year, including 14 starts, he was second onthe squad with 45 shots and 25 shots on goal.  Samuels wasnamed to the all-tournament teams at the Sonny Carter Invitationaland the Shellenberger Classic. 

Sophomore (2009):

Samuels earned the first postseason honor of his career afterbeing named an honorable mention to the all-University AthleticAssociation (UAA) team during his sophomore year.  Samuelsstarted 15 of the 16 games he played in during the season,finishing second on the team with five goals, six assists and 16points and leading all Emory players with three game-winninggoals.  He scored a career-best five points during Emory's 3-2win over Maryville College on October 23rd, matching a career-highwith two goals (including the game winner) and adding anassist.  Samuels also scored the game-winning goal duringEmory's 3-0 win over conference-rival Brandeis University onOctober 18th, and during Emory's 4-1 win at Piedmont College onSeptember 23rd.  Samuels also led all Emory players with threegame-winning assists, including two in the team's final three gamesof the season.  He finished the season ranked 113th amongDivision III players with 0.38 assists per game.

Freshman (2008):

Samuels played in 15 games during his freshman campaign, comingoff the bench in each one.  He scored two goals and added twoassists for six points during the season.  Samuels recorded atwo-goal game against Methodist University on August 31st.

Played for four seasons on the Savannah Country Day Schoolsoccer team, serving as the captain during his senior campaign...Recorded career highs with 25 goals and 12 assists during hissenior season for 62 total points... Was named to the all-CoastalEmpire first team in 2008, and the Player of the Year for histeam... Coached by Peter Foley in high school... Also playedbasketball and ran cross country in high school.
