Biography

Senior(2011):

Limited by injury during his senior campaign, Masuda saw actionin just 10 contests, including one start.  He assisted on onegoal, coming during the Eagles' 6-5 double-overtime loss to CaseWestern Reserve University on October 14th.  Masuda totalednine shots during the year, two of which were on goal.  Heended his Emory career with eight goals and five assists for 21points over 28 games, including 19 starts.

Junior(2010):

Masuda earned an honorable mention to the all-UniversityAthletic Association (UAA) team, after finishing the season secondon the team with eight goals and 20 points, and third with fourassists.  He started all 18 games he played in during thecampaign, leading all Emory players with 50 shots and 29 shots ongoal.  Masuda scored three goals (including the game winner)in the second half of the team's 4-0 win over seventh-rankedRochester, giving him the 35th hat trick in the program's historyand the first in UAA play in six seasons.  He matched aprogram record with three assists during the Eagles' 9-0 win overGreensboro College on September 25th.  Masuda added agame-winning goal during the Eagles' season-opening victory overCovenant College on September 1st.  The forward was named theUAA's Offensive Player of the Week on November 1st.

Transferred from Christopher Newport University before the startof his junior season... Earned all-region second team honors, inaddition to all-USA South and all-Virginia SID first team honors,in 2009... Totaled 13 goals and five assists for 31 points duringhis two collegiate seasons, including 10 goals and five assists for25 points in 2009, the second-most in each category on his team...Helped his squad to a 35-7-7 record during his two seasons,including back-to-back trips to the Elite-8 of the NCAA DivisionIII Tournament... Scored a goal against Emory during the 2008 Roundof 16 matchup in the NCAA Tournament... Played for four seasons onthe Radford High School soccer team, serving as the team captainduring his senior year... Named to the Virginia State second teamand the Region C first team in 2008, in addition to earningThree Rivers District first team honors in 2007 and 2008... Coachedby Greg Wade in high school... Played club soccer for the RoanokeStars for four years, where he was coached by John Faircloth.
