Biography

Senior (2004):

Defender Kevin McCarthy helped Emory record 10 shutouts, themost by an Eagle defense since 1986. The senior was named to theall-region third team, the first time in his career that he hasbeen awarded the honor. McCarthy started all 14 games he played in,increasing his career total to 68 starts, the fifth most in schoolhistory and second most by a defender. He picked up assists in twoconsecutive games on Sept. 24 and Sept. 26. McCarthy was named tothe UAA all-conference second team for his defensive contributionsthis season.

Junior (2003):

In addition to making the all-conference first team, KevinMcCarthy was a part of a defense that recorded a school-record 0.69team goals against average. His efforts on defense helped Emoryrank No. 28 in the nation in NCAA's last Division III regularseason report (final NCAA statistics announced in January). Thejunior sweeper helped the team allow 17 fewer goals this seasonthan last season--the biggest single-season improvement in goalsagainst in school history.

Sophomore (2002):

Played in 16 of 19 games and started all of them. Had two goalsand two assists for six points. Had one goal and one assist againstHuntingdon College on October 20.

Freshman (2001):

Played in 18 of 18 games and stated all of them. Had one goaland four assists on 18 shots for six points. Had the game-winninggoal against Huntingdon on September 16.
