Biography

Senior (2006):

Rust served as a co-captain of the Emory team, and received thefirst conference honor of his career during the 2006 season, as hewas named an honorable mention to the All-University AthleticAssociation team.  He was also named to the CoSIDA AcademicAll-District second team.  The senior started all 17 games forEmory as a defender, recording five assists during the year. Rust had an assist in each of the Eagles's first-three games, andfour of the team's first five.  Three of his five assists wereon game-winning goals.  Rust was a key contributor to an Emorydefense that recorded seven shutouts and a 0.93 goals againstaverage.

Junior (2005):

Rust started 14 games for the Eagles, and played in 16 gamesduring the season.  The junior scored three goals and added anassist to give him seven points for the year.  Two of Rust'sthree goals were game winners, including one against North CarolinaWesleyan, which allowed the Eagles to improve to 4-0-0 on theseason.  He converted on two of three penalty kicks during theseason.  Rust was part of an Emory defense that had theninth-highest shutout percentage in Division III soccer, the16th-best team goals against average and broke a school record byshutting out 14 of its 19 opponents.

Sophomore (2004):

Rust scored three goals and two assists for a total of eightpoints. He converted on a team-best two penalty kicks in 18 games.In the team's first two games of the season, Rust assisted on twogoals, and scored the game-winning goal on Sept. 4.

Freshman (2003):

Brandon Rust saw his role with the team expand in the injuryabsence of the Eagles' first-team all-conference midfielder. Thefreshman responded with one goal and seven assists. Rust assistedon the goals that tied and won Emory's first road game in theseries against regional rival Greensboro (N.C.), then the No. 6team in the nation. Rust totaled three game-winning assists on theseason.
