Biography

Senior (2014):

McMahon appeared in 15 games out of the bullpen for Emory duringhis senior year, recording a 3.80 ERA.  Over 21 and a thirdinnings pitched, the righty held opponents to a .312 battingaverage while walking just seven batters and striking out 10. He held the opposition scoreless in six of his appearances and toone run or less on 10 occasions.  McMahon finished his Emorycareer ranked fifth in school history in both appearances (62) andgames finished (23).

Junior (2013):

McMahon, a team co-captain in 2013, was second among all Eagleswith 16 appearances, including one start.  He finished theyear with a 3-3 record and a 4.94 ERA, while allowing a .315opponents’ batting average over 27.1 innings pitched. He picked up a victory in his only start of the season,allowing just two runs on six hits against Maryville on April17th.  The righty also claimed victories during theyear against Brandeis on March 13th and Berry on March26th.  McMahon contributed to an Emory shutoutagainst Rhodes on February 17th, allowing just one walkand striking out three over two hitless innings. 

Sophomore (2012):

McMahon appeared in 10 games for Emory in 2012, making twostarts.  His 16 innings pitched were the fifth-most by anEagle during the seaso, as the righty went 0-1 with a 6.19 earnedrun average.  McMahon recorded a save during the Eagles' 5-4win at Huntingdon College on March 25th, recording the final twoouts of the game. He also started and pitched four innings againstDivision II North Georgia College and State University on May 2nd,allowing just one run on four hits and a walk with threestrikeouts.  McMahon held right-handed batters to a .265(13-for-49) batting average during the season.

Freshman (2011):

McMahon was a workhorse for the Eagles during the 2011 campaign,appearing in 21 games (the eighth-most in school history), andgoing 4-3 with a 3.33 earned run average, one save, and 21strikeouts in 51.1 innings pitched.  Opponents hit .286 offMcMahon during the season, including a .242 batting average(15-for-62) from left-handed hitters.  He was strong withrunners on base, holding opponents to a .186 batting average(21-for-113) with men on, and closed out innings well, keepingopposing batters to a .242 batting average (15-for-62) with twoouts.   Of his 19 relief appearances, 14 were for two ormore innings, and he held opposing teams scoreless in nine. His best relief appearance of the season came on April 12th atOglethorpe University, when he held the Stormy Petrels scoreless ontwo hits and a walk over four an a third innings, striking outthree batters en route to the victory.  McMahon was 3-2 with a3.32 ERA in his 19 relief appearances, and 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA inhis two starts.

Prior to Emory:

Played on the Immaculate Conception baseball team for fourseasons, serving as the team captain during his junior and senioryears... Named to the all-area team three-straight years, and theall-district team twice... Was his team's Most Valuable Player in2009 and 2010... Was 21st in Illinois state history with159-consecutive varsity starts... Led his team to a fourth-placefinish in the state in 2010... Also helped his team to regional andsectional championships in 2008 and 2010, and a super-sectionalchampionship in 2010...Coached by Dan Holleman in high school...Also played varsity basketball for three seasons.

Personal:

Born November 9, 1991... Worked as a basketball camp instructorand an assistant coach for a high school league over thesummer.
