Biography

Senior (2014):

Kahn finished his senior season with a .365 batting average,scoring 55 runs (tied for the fourth-most in a single season in theprogram’s history) and driving in 17, while collecting ninedoubles, two triples, and 17 stolen bases on 20 attempts.  Henotched a .441 slugging percentage and a .466 on base percentageduring his 43 games played, which included 41 starts, splittingtime between shortstop and second base.  The middle infielderwas named to the NCAA All-Tournament team, after batting ateam-high .476 (10-for-21) with eight runs scored, seven RBIs andfive stolen bases on as many attempts.  Included in hispostseason performance was a three-for-four game with five RBIs,along with a double and a triple, against Southern Maine. Kahn was tied for third on the team with 23 multiple-hit gamesduring the season, and recorded a season-best 12 game hittingstreak from April 1st through May 16th. He finished his two-year Emory career 10th in theprogram’s history with a .456 on base percentage and14th with a .349 batting average.

Junior (2013):

Kahn made an immediate impact on the Eagles during his firstseason on the team, earning selections to the all-UniversityAthletic Association (UAA) Second Team and the All-UAA TournamentTeam.  Kahn was also the only Eagle in 2013 to be named to aD3Baseball.com Team of the Week (April 1st) and wasnamed the UAA Athlete of the Week of March 11th. He started 38 games at shortstop for Emory, batting .328 with 14RBIs, and leading all Eagles with 40 runs scored, three triples, 24stolen bases, a .438 slugging percentage and a .442 on basepercentage.  He also notched nine doubles during the year, andwas tied for the team lead with 12 extra base hits.  Among allDivision III players in 2013, Kahn was ranked 82nd with1.05 runs per game, 40th with 0.63 stolen bases pergame, 45th in stolen bases and 48th with 14hit-by-pitches (the second-most by an Eagle ever in a singleseason).  He batted .357 (10-for-28) against lefties, .350(21-for-60) with men on base, and .341 (14-for-41) with runners inscoring position.  Kahn recorded a 14-game hitting streak (thesecond-longest by an Eagle during the year) from March10th through April 7th, and scored at leastone run in 10-straight games from March 15th throughApril 7th.  He had 12 multiple hit games and fourmultiple RBI games during the year.  The junior wasthree-for-four with three RBIs against Hendrix on April6th, matching a school record with two triples, andtotaling eight bases, the second-most in a game schoolhistory.  Against Birmingham-Southern on March 6th,he was two-for-three with four stolen bases, also the second-mostin a game in school history.  During the eight-game UAATournament, Kahn hit .407 (11-for-27) with eight runs scored and apair of doubles, earning a spot on the All-Tournament team. Kahn recorded a .944 fielding percentage at shortstop during theyear, committing just 10 errors, including an 11-game errorlessstreak from March 14th through April 6th.

Played on theChattahoochee Valley Community College baseball team for twoseasons prior to coming to Emory... Batted .255 with 18 RBIs in2012, and .286 with three home runs and 26 RBIs in 2011... Was afour-year player for Woodward Academy in high school, serving asthe team captain during his senior year... An All-State player from2009-10, and a Gold Glove winner from 2008-10... Helped his team tothree region championships... Was coached by Jim Minor... Alsoplayed basketball in high school.
