Freshman (2009):

Melendez appeared in 19 games for the Eagles during his freshmanseason, making five starts at second base.  He recorded fourhits in his 25 at-bats, scoring three runs and driving in three aswell.  Melendez helped the Eagles to a 15-5 win overWashington University (Mo.) on March 11th, walking three times,stealing a base, and scoring two runs.  He added a two RBIperformance on April 5th against Piedmont College, guiding theEagles to a 13-5 win.

Played on the Trinity Christian Academy baseball team for fourseasons, serving as the team captain during hi junior and seniorseasons... Hit at least .333 in each of his four seasons on theteam... Won the 2008 Warrior Award... Coached by Miguel Luelo inhigh school.
