Junior (2017):
Played in 12 games, making six starts as he transitioned into an outfielder as a junior…Batted .333 (5-for-15) with six runs scored, two doubles, two RBI and five walks…Made his first career start in the field on February 12th against Sewanee University, going 1-for-2 at the plate…Drove in both runs with a 1-for-2 effort against Washington & Lee University on February 19th.
Sophomore (2016):
Made six relief appearances as a sophomore…Finished the season with a 4.50 earned-run average and five strikeouts in 6.0 innings pitched…Made his season debut at the UAA Championships, allowing one run on two hits against Brandeis University on March 13th…Tossed a scoreless inning in Emory’s win over sixth-ranked Birmingham Southern on April 6th…Worked another scoreless outing at Oglethorpe, racking up one strikeout on April 19th…Appeared in the Eagles’ 15-2, NCAA South Regional clinching victory over Shenandoah on May 22nd, giving up just two singles.
Freshman (2015):
Kerning made 10 appearances as a freshman for Emory during the 2015 season. He allowed nine runs (3 ER) on 13 hits in 11.2 innings for a 2.31 earned run average and had 12 strike outs to eight walks. The right hander did not allow a run through the first 3.2 innings of his career, spanning three outings.

Prior to Emory:
Was a four-year member of the Chaminade High School baseball team, serving as the team captain during his senior year... Was named the Most Valuable Player of the Nassau-Suffolk Counties All-Star Game in 2014... Coached by Shaun Manning and Jack Lyons... Also played football and basketball in high school.
