Sam Carpenter

Sam Carpenter has been part of the Emory coaching staff for the past four seasons, helping the team to two UAA championships and has been part of two UAA Coaching Staff of the Year honors. During his time on staff the Eagles have posted an overall record of 104-55 and made the NCAA tournament in 2025.

Carpenter joins the Eagles following a stellar career at Piedmont University. During his career, Carpenter was a three-time All-USA South Conference First Team, three-time All-South Region and was named an ABCA/Rawlings and D3Baseball.com All-American in 2021. He ended his Lions career as the program's all-time leader in wins (30), innings pitched (352), strikeouts (361) and starts (56).  Sam graduated in May 2021 with a degree in History.

In addition to his collegiate career, Carpenter has spent time coaching with the Gainesville Braves of the Sunbelt Baseball League and was an All State pitcher/first baseman at Gainesville High School in Gainesville, GA, in 2016.

A native of Gainesville, GA, Sam is the son of Cris and Jane Carpenter and has two sisters, Liza and Margaret.
