Senior (2011):
Monaco made eight appearances during his senior year, eight ofwhich were starts, going 2-3 during the campaign. He wasnamed the University Athletic Association (UAA) Pitcher of theWeek on February 14th. Monaco earned an opening-day win forEmory, allowing just two runs on four hits against OglethorpeUniversity on February 12th. He also picked up a win onFebruary 18th, giving up four runs on five hits against YorkCollege (Pa). Monaco held opponents to a .278 batting averagewith the bases empty.
Junior (2010):
Monaco appeared in 14 games during the season, four of whichwere starts. He struck out 22 batters in 30.1 inningspitched, allowing a .320 opponents batting average and walking just16. Monaco finished the season with a 7.12 earned run averageand a 2-3 record. In his 10 relief appearances, comprising21.2 innings, Monaco was 1-2 with a 4.64 ERA, and heldopposing hitters to a .221 batting average, while striking out18. Monaco started and pitched three shutout innings oftwo-hit baseball to help Emory to a 5-0 win against AtlantaChristian College on April 21st. He also pitched four inningsagainst Piedmont College on April 2nd, allowing three hitsand one run.
Sophomore (2009):
Monaco finished his first season with the Eagles with a 3-3record and a 5.77 earned run average. In his 48.1 inningspitched, comprising seven starts and four relief appearances,Monaco struck out 23 batters and walked 22, while holding opponentsto a .258 batting average. The sophomore was effectiveagainst lefties during the season, holding them to a .227(10-for-44) batting average, and held all opponents to a .204(22-for-108) batting average with the bases empty. In hissecond outing as an Eagle, Monaco pitched five shutout innings ofrelief against February 20th, allowing just two hits and strikingout five batters.

Prior to Emory:
Transferred to Emory from St. Joseph's University (Pa.) prior tothe start of his sophomore year, where he played on the baseballteam for one season... Did not play for the Hawks in 2008... Playedthree seasons on the Bishop Eustace Preparatory School, serving asthe team's co-captain during his senior year... Was named to theAll-South Jersey, All-Parochial, and All-Conference teams... Struckout 60 batters with a 1.70 earned run average in 40 innings duringhis senior year... Helped lead his team to New Jersey StateChampionships in 2004 and 2006, and to South Jersey Championshipsfrom 2004-07... Also played basketball in high school.
