Senior (2010):
Cournoyer put together a career-year out of the bullpen with a1.97 earned run average, the 12th-lowest single season total inEmory history and good for 16th among all Division III pitchers in2010. He finished the year with a career-best three wins anda 3-2 overall record, while recording 30 strikeouts and just 10walks in 45.2 innings and a .296 batting averageagainst. For his efforts, he was named to the all-UniversityAthletic Association (UAA) second team, the first postseason honorof his career. Left-handed batters hit just .212 (11-for-52)against Cournoyer during the season. He did not allow anearned run in 11 of his 18 appearances during the year, andallowed a run or less in 15 of his games. Cournoyer's firstwin of the season came against SUNY Cortland, when he pitched fourand a third scoreless innings of relief, allowing just two hits tothe eventual National Runners-Up. He also threw four and athird scoreless innings of relief against Case Western ReserveUniversity on March 13th, allowing just five hits and striking outfive batters.
Junior (2009):
Cournoyer appeared in 14 games for the Eagles in 2009, 13 ofwhich were relief efforts. He recorded a 3.92 earned runaverage while holding opponents to a .243 batting average. Cournoyer struck out 11 batters in 18.1 innings pitched, and heldleft-handed batters to a .143 batting average (two-for-14).
Sophomore (2008):
Cournoyer pitched in 10 games for the Eagles during the season,making one start. He recorded a 1-2 record and a 8.66 earnedrun average over the campaign, striking out six batters in 17.2innings pitched. The junior's best outing of the season cameon April 1st, when he pitched two hitless innings againstOglethorpe University, as part of a 15-10 Emory win. Opponents hit just .250 (10-for-40) off Cournoyer with the basesempty, and .200 (4-for-20) with two outs.
Freshman (2007):
Cournoyer appeared in 10 games and made two starts for theEagles in 2007, after transferring to Emory prior to the start ofthe season. He finished his inaugural Emory season with a 1-0record and a 4.72 earned run average, striking out 11 batters in13.1 innings pitched. The sophomore earned a victory in hisfirst Emory start, pitching four scoreless innings against CaseWestern Reserve University (Ohio) at the University AthleticAssociation tournament. Cournoyer pitched a perfect ninthinning against the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at theNCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
