Biography

Senior (2014):

Hannon completed his collegiate career by earning ABCA All-SouthRegion First Team and D3Baseball.com All-South Region Second Teamhonors.  He also claimed a spot on the all-conference firstteam for the fourth-straight season, becoming just the secondplayer in University Athletic Association (UAA) history to earnfour-straight all-UAA First Team honors, along with formerWashington University (Mo.) player Andy Shields (2004-07).  Heset the school record with 187 runs scored over his career, andfinished fourth in school history with 230 hits.  In addition,his 125 career walks were the second-most ever by an Eagle, and heis just one of two Emory players to ever accumulate 200 hits and100 walks over a career.  Hannon also ranked fourth in schoolhistory with a .478 on base percentage and 79 stolen bases, and10th with a .363 batting average.  The rightfielder started all but one of Emory’s games during theseason, and finished the year with 67 runs (the second-most inschool history and second among all Division III players during theyear), nine doubles, 29 RBIs, 43 walks (the most in Division IIIand second in school history), a .500 on base percentage and 24stolen bases on 28 attempts.  He was named to the NCAA SouthRegional All-Tournament Team and the all-UAA Tournament team duringthe year.  Hannon recorded a 12-game hitting streak fromFebruary 22nd – March 13th, totaled 21multiple-hit games during the season, and reached base in all butthree of the games that he played in.  Hannon was alsorecognized following the season for his academic achievements, asthe senior was named to both the Capital One/ CoSIDA AcademicAll-America Third Team (becoming just the second AcademicAll-American in the program’s history) and the AcademicAll-District Team.

Junior (2013):

Hannon, a team co-captain, was selected to the all-UniversityAthletic Association (UAA) First Team for the third-straight seasonin 2013.  He started all 39 games for the Eagles (one of justthree players to do so), finishing the year with a .325 battingaverage, 34 runs scored and 20 runs batted in.  In addition,he stole 22 bases on as many attempts, the most in a season schoolhistory without being caught.  Hannon finished the year ranked68th among all Division III players in stolen bases and65th with 0.56 stolen bases per game.  The juniorhit .342 (41-for-120) against right-handed pitching during theyear, .378 (31-for-82) with runners on base, and .382 (21-for-55)with runners in scoring position.  Against Oglethorpe onFebruary 20th, Hannon was four-for-five with a tripleand three stolen bases, while scoring four runs and driving in six,both the second-best totals in the program’s history. He added three-hit performances against Rhodes on February17th and Huntingdon on March 2nd, and totaled14 multiple-hit games during the season, the second-most by anEagle in 2013.  In addition, Hannon’s five multiple RBIgames ranked third among Emory players during the year.  Henotched a nine-game hitting streak from March 11ththrough March 29th, and reached base in 37 of his 39games.  Hannon recorded a .972 fielding percentage, spendingthe majority of his time during the season in right field. After three seasons, he ranks sixth in school history with a .873stolen base percentage, eighth with 55 stolen bases,10th with a .358 career average and 14th with120 runs scored.

Sophomore (2012):

Hannon earned all-region and all-conference recognition for thesecond-straight season, as the sophomore outfielder was named tothe D3Baseball.com All-South Region Second Team, and theAll-University Athleticic Association (UAA) First Team. Starting 38 of the 39 games he played in during the season,Hannon led all Emory hitter with a .340 batting average, and wassecond on the team with 40 runs scored, 49 hits, 19 stolen bases(on 21 attempts) and a .451 on base percentage.  He walked 29times during the season, ranking him 42 among Division III players,and added on five doubles and 18 RBIs during the season. Hannon was named the Most Valuable Player of the UAATournament after leading all players with a .520 batting average,10 runs scored, a .639 on base percentage and a conference-record10 walks, in addition to ranking second with a .560 sluggingpercentage and eight stolen bases.  He earned a spot on theD3Baseball.com Team of the Week after his UAA performance, becomingthe first player in the program's history to claim the honor. Hannon went two-for-four with three runs scored, three RBIsand three stolen bases against Oglethorpe University on April 29th. He was also three-for-five with three runs scored and an RBIagainst Case Western Reserve on March 12th, and three-for-five withfour runs scored and an RBI against Piedmont College on March 31st. Hannon recorded a seven-game hitting streak from March 2ndthrough March 13th, and totaled 12 multiple hit games during theyear.  He hit .368 against right-handed pitching (42-for-114)and .375 with runners on base (27-for-72).  After two seasonson the team, Hannon ranks third in school history with a career onbase percentage of .499, and sixth with a .376 batting average.

Freshman (2011):

Hannon received nods to the All-South Region ThirdTeam and All-University Athletic Association (UAA) First Team, inaddition to being named the UAA Rookie of the Year during hisfreshman season.  Hannon finished the season ranked seventhamong Division III players with 37 walks, 11th with 0.88 walks pergame, 13th with a 0.543 on base percentage, 73rd with a .411batting average, 98th with 1.1 runs scored per game, 75th with 46runs scored, and 112th with 60 hits, and led the Eagles in allthose categories during the season.  His .543 on basepercentage and 37 walks were the second-highest single seasontotals in the program's history.  He also led all Emoryplayers with 14 stolen bases (on 20 attempts) and 19 multiple hitgames, including eight three-hit games.  Hannon was a strongdefensive presence in the outfield as well, recording eightoutfield assists during the year, including a game-ending play atthe plate to secure an Emory win against DePauw University. During the UAA Tournament in March, Hannon led all hitters witha .526 batting average (10-for-19), driving in seven runs andscoring eight of his own, en route to being named to theall-tournament team.  The right fielder also walked six timesduring conference play, including a tournament-record four duringthe Eagles’ game against the University of Rochester. He had an 11-game hitting streak from March 2nd - 22nd, tying himfor the second-longest by an Eagle during the season.  Hannonreached base in 37 of the 42 games he played in, including 37 ofhis 40 starts and 28-straight games from March 2nd until April18th.  Hannon hit .455 (15-for-33) against left-handedpitching, .559 (38-for-68) with runners on base, .521 (25-for-48)when leading off an inning, and .551 (27-for-49) with runners inscoring position.  He was named the UAA Athlete of the Week onFebruary 21st.
