Sophomore (2011):
DeYoung appeared in 30 games for the Eagles during his sophomorecampaign, making starts at shortstop and leftfield. Hehit .240 during the year with one home run and 13 RBIs, whilestealing seven bases on eight attempts and scoring 17 runs. During a four-game stretch from April 9th - April 16th, DeYoung hit.476 (10-for-21) with eight RBIs, two doubles, a home run and twostolen bases, including a four-for-five performance with aschool-record tying three doubles against Covenant College. He hit his first collegiate home run against the University of theSouth on April 13th, as part of a four-RBI day. DeYoungraised his batting average from .062 to .240 during his final 16games of the season, batting .372 (16-for-43) with 12 RBIs duringthat stretch.
Freshman (2010):
DeYoung played in 28 games, making 22 starts, during his firstseason with Emory. He finished the year with a .329 battingaverage, the sixth-highest mark on the team, among qualifyingplayers. He split time between third base, shortstop andthe outfield, scoring 21 runs and stealing eight bases on as manyattempts, the second-most steals on the squad. DeYoung hit.341 (15-for-44) against right-handed pitchers, and .345(10-for-29) with runners on base.

Transferred from Ball State University, where he was a red shirton the baseball team... Competed on the Hanover Central High Schoolbaseball team for four seasons, serving as the team captain duringhis junior and senior years... Hit .456 with 35 stolen bases in2008... Won the Porter County Conference Mental Attitude Award andthe Most Valuable Player award in 2008... Was named tothe all-Porter County Conference team in 2006, 2007 and2008...
