Biography

Senior (2010):

Genn appeared in 10 games during the 2010 season, including fivestarts.  He finished the year with a 3-2 record and a 8.26earned run average, while allowing opponents a .347 batting averageagainst.  Genn struck out 20 batter during his 40.1 inningspitched, and was particularly effective against left-handed hitter,who hit just .212 (seven-for-33) against him.  He recorded a3-1 record during his five starts, including a win against GuilfordCollege on April 9th, during which he pitched a career-high eightinnings. 

Junior (2009):

Genn went 2-0 with a save during his junior season, making 13appearances and two starts.  He pitched 28 innings during theseason, striking out 19 batters while allowing a .351 battingaverage against and a 7.07 earned run average.  Genn helpedEmory to a 8-2 win over North Central College on March 21st,allowing just one hit and striking out two in two innings.

Sophomore (2008):

Genn served as the Eagles' closer for most of the 2008 season,recording six saves, the third-most in a single season in schoolhistory.  He finished the year with a 1-1 record, and a 5.14earned run average through 15 appearances, 13 of which were out ofthe bullpen.  In his 22.1 innings pitched in relief, Genn heldopponents to a .256 batting average, while recording 15 strikeoutsand a 4.43 earned run average.  Over a five appearance stretchfrom March 11th to April 2nd, he did not allow a run, while givingup just three hits in 6.2 innings. 

Freshman (2007):

Genn finished his inaugural season with the Eagles with a 3.93earned run average with two saves and 22 strikeouts in 36.2 inningspitched.  The freshman appeared in 15 total games, making sixstarts for the Eagles during the year.  Opponents hit just.254 off of Genn during the season.  In his nine reliefappearances during the year, he compiled a 1.65 earned run average(three earned runs in 16.1 innings) and held opponents to a .214batting average.  In his first three collegiate appearancesagainst York College (Pa.), Adrian College (Mich.), and OglethorpeUniversity (Ga.), Genn did not allow an earned run over 9.1innings, giving up just six hits and striking out 10batters.

Attended the Friends School of Baltimore, where he played on thebaseball team for four seasons, serving as the captain during hissenior year... Recorded a .98 earned run average his junior seasonand a 1.24 earned run average his senior season... Recipient of theFriends School Athletic Association award for baseball... Coachedby Tom Randall.
