#4 Men's Soccer Scores Five Unanswered to Prevail over Belhaven in Home Opener

The No. 4 ranked Emory University men's soccer team earned its second come-from-behind victory of the opening week on Friday as the Eagles erased a 3-0 deficit to upend Belhaven University, 5-3, at the Woodruff PE Center in Atlanta.

The start of the game was delayed more than two and a half hours due to inclement weather and the Blazers wasted no time putting up tallies when play got underway, scoring three times within the first 30 minutes including a score just 92 seconds into the action.

Despite the early hole, Emory notched a pair of scores before the end of the first half to bring the score to within one. Junior transfer Jeremiah Cateau ripped another curling free kick to the right corner for the Eagles' first score in the 32nd minute before sophomore Josh Ali countered with a long-ranging shot attempt from in front of the Belhaven bench that found the far post in the 40th minute.

Senior Logan Steren pushed home the equalizer in the 51st minute as he knocked in a rebound following a save on Emre Evran's attempt moments earlier.

With the game knotted at 3-3, the Eagles found the go-ahead marker in the 87th minute when transfer Jack Yough placed a header to the left post following the feeds from Ali and Landon Redding. Two minutes and 30 seconds later, Jake Breitegan put the finishing touches as he raced down the sideline prior to going top shelf with the game's final score to provide the final margin.

Emory looks to close out the opening week with the Sonny Carter Invitational finale Sunday evening, taking on Brevard College at 6:00 PM in Atlanta.
