The Emory women's golf dominated the first two rounds of the Tartan Invitational as they ended day one nine strokes ahead of second place with a team total 563 (-13).
UAA counterparts NYU and Carnegie Mellon round out the top three, with the Violets taking second at 572 (-4) and the Tartans shooting a 580 (+4).Â
Amanda Zheng sits at the top of the individual leaderboard at the end of day one, shooting two rounds of 67 on the day. The sophomore shot 11 birdies and one bogey through 36 holes as she sits three strokes ahead of Huntingdon's Yvette Gordon.Â
Behind her is junior
Zimo Li who delivered a 141 (-3) to end the day in sixth place. She shot five birdies and a pair of bogeys in the first round before recording four birdies and the same amount of bogeys in the second round.Â
Carys Code sits two shots behind Li with a 143 (-1) through 36 holes. The senior saw four bogeys and a pair of birdies in the first round, but improved by five strokes in round two as she carded four birdies, three bogeys and an Eagle on the fourth hole to tie for tenth place.Â
Following Code is freshman
Julia Paek who finished in a tie for 16th after carding a 145 (+1). Paek saw four bogeys and a pair of birdies in the first round, but improved by three shots in round two as she delivered three birdies and a set of bogeys.Â
Rounding it out for the Eagles on the leaderboard is
Esther Jung who finished the day in 43rd place with a two-round total of 153 (+9). The senior carded five birdies, seven bogeys and three double bogeys through 36 holes.Â
