The No. 8 ranked Emory University women's soccer team went on the road Wednesday evening and secured a 1-0 victory against in-state foe Berry College at Bob Pearson Field in Mount Berry, Georgia.
With the win, the Eagles will return home having completed a 4-0-1 road swing to start the season while the defeat was the Vikings' first of the season as they fell to 4-1.
Senior Kaitlyn Nimmer provided the lone scoring for either bench on the night as she notched the decisive goal in the 28th minute. The goal was her second of the campaign.
The Eagles controlled the shot tally across the 90 minutes with a 31-9 margin and posted a 9-3 edge in shots on goal. Junior Mikayla Camp led Emory with six shots with Nimmer recording a team-leading three shots on frame.
Senior Rachel Carr stopped all three attempts that came her way as she and the Eagles' backline registered their second clean sheet of the year.
Emory will make its season debut in front of the WoodPEC faithful on Friday as the Eagles host Christopher Newport at 7:00 PM.
