The Emory track and field split up between the Williams FIRE Meet, Lee Last Chance and LifeU Last Chance meets Saturday afternoon, bringing home 13 top ten wins across the three meets.
At the Lee Last Chance meet,
Aaliyah Jalloh shined in the 800m, running for 2:09.17 to take sixth place while breaking the program record and earning the new fifth-best mark in the nation.
The day was also highlighted by a trio of wins from the throwers at the LifeU meet.
Abigail Roberts took top honors in the hammer throw, going for 55.36m to eclipse her previous program record mark and earn the new fifth best mark in the nation while
Jeanette Hydukovich delivered a 12.92m performance in shot put to claim first place.
Caroline Henry earned the third win for the Eagles as she threw for 43.72m in the discus to win the event.
At the Williams FIRE Meet, freshman
Megan Taylor completed the final events of the heptathlon, finishing in sixth place with 4,111 points over the seven events. The day began with the 200m dash where she took fifth with a 5.28m effort. The freshman did not place in the javelin but took 11
th in the 800m run with a time of 2:41.39 to solidify her sixth place spot.
Down in Tennessee, a group of athletes took on the Lee Last Chance meet.
Noah Chang got the day started for the Eagles in the 110m hurdles, coming in 11
th with a 15.72 second effort.
In the 100m, senior
Henry Brandstadter ran for 10.64 seconds to come in 16
th place.
The 400m hurdles saw
Ethan Lu deliver a second place finish with a time of 53.22 seconds.
Sebastian Kou also placed in the top ten, taking eighth with a time of 55.74 seconds.
In the 800m,
Ryan McGonigle took sixth with a time of 1:51.10 while
Andrew Burchett came in 18
th at 1:53.78.
On the field side of the men's competition, Brandstadter was the lone Eagle as he took second place in the long jump with a 7.07m performance.
Jada Kenner kicked off the women's track competition with her 12
th place finish in the 100m as she ran for 12.23 seconds.
The 4x400 relay team of
Amaya Grant, Kenner,
Hannah Riley and Jalloh took third place with a time of 3:46.83.
In the 10,000m,
Elizabeth Csikai ran a 37:35.14 to come in third place.
Erin Makhanian started off the women's field events with pole vault, earning a 3.41m mark to take fourth.
Grant competed in the final event for the Eagles, jumping for 11.10m in the triple jump to come in fourth place.
At the LifeU Last Chance meet, Henry came in third behind Roberts in the hammer throw with a 50.06m effort.
In women's discus, Hydukovich and Henry came in second and fourth respectively behind Chapman with throws over 42m.
The Eagles will continue competition tomorrow at the LifeU Last Chance meet, with the first event beginning at 2:00 p.m.
