The Emory University women's track and field team saw three athletes compete Friday afternoon as
Megan Taylor began heptathlon competition at the Williams College FIRE Meet.
Davis Johnson and
Cameron Gupta also raced Friday as they competed in the 3000m steeplechase at the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite.
Taylor is currently in second place with 2,923 total points heading into the final three events of the heptathlon. She began the day with a fifth-place finish in the 100m hurdles with a 14.94 second race. The freshman followed that with a 1.59m high jump to tie for second place in the event before delivering a third place mark in the shot put at 9.64m. The day concluded with Taylor placing second in the 200m dash, finishing in 25.48 seconds.
In the 3000m steeplechase, Gupta came in fourth with a time of 10:48.29 while
Davis Johnson took fifth at 10:54.05.
Taylor will compete in the final three events of the heptathlon tomorrow while the rest of the team splits up between the Lee Last Chance meet and Life University Last Chance meet.
