The Emory women's golf team is at the top of the team leaderboard after round two at the NCAA Championships, shooting a 289 (+1) as a team to bring the team total to 582 (+6).
The Eagles lead the field by four strokes to jump two spots on the leaderboard while UAA foes Carnegie Mellon and NYU are one shot apart, sitting in second and third place respectively at the end of day two.
Zimo Li had an incredible day on the course, improving by four shots to shoot up 14 spots on the leaderboard with a 69 (-3) in round two. The sophomore shot four birdies and a lone bogey on the day as she sits in a tie for fourth place.
One shot behind her is junior
Carys Code who shot a 72 (E) to bring her two-round total to 143 (-1). Code had a consistent round, making par on every hole apart from a birdie on seven and a bogey on ten to take her spot in a tie for ninth going into round three.
Amanda Zheng and
Esther Jung are next up on the leaderboard as they're tied for 30
th with a two-round score of 149 (+5). Zheng carded six bogeys and a pair of birdies over the round while Jung recorded four birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey to improve by three shots from her first round.
Rounding out the leaderboard for the Eagles is
Covi Yan who sits in a tie for 60
th with a 36-hole score of 153 (+9). The junior improved by three shots from round one to round two, shooting two bogeys, a birdie and a double bogey to move up eight spots on the leaderboard.
The Eagles will be back on the course tomorrow morning for round three as they look to hold onto their top spot in the standings.
