Members of the Emory University women's soccer program took part in last week's Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau's 113th Meeting, held at the Oceans Ballroom at the Georgia Aquarium.
This year's event focused on the game of soccer and its emerging impact on Atlanta and the Southeast Region, as well as its reach nationally. Mayor Andre Dickens spoke on the city's hospitality industry alongside an esteemed panel of experts and speakers that included JT Batson – CEO and Secretary General, U.S. Soccer Federation and Dan Corso – President, Atlanta Sports Council and Atlanta World Cup Host Committee.
Assistant Coach Cat Whitehill and a group of Eagles were also featured during the event with the team being recognized for their recent success and to discuss how the game of soccer has played a part of their lives.
