Emory University track & field senior Henry Brandstadter was named the M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week as announced by the U.S. Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association Monday afternoon.
Brandstandter had a meet for the ages for the Eagles as the Emory men's team finished as the conference's runner-up following the UAA Championships this past weekend in Cleveland.
The senior compiled 48 points for the Eagles thanks to conference championships in the 100 meters, 200 meters, long jump and high jump events, and was part of Emory's runner-up relay team in the 4x100. Brandstadter posted winning marks of 10.51, 21.83, and cleared a PR of 2.03m (6-7¾) in the high jump.
This is the first time in program history that a male athlete from Emory has been named M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season.
