The Emory women's track and field team wrapped up competition at the UAA Outdoor Championships this afternoon, coming in second place with 162 points.
UChicago claimed the team title with 195 points while WashU rounded out the podium with 148 points to take third.
The final day of competition was highlighted by a trio of freshmen as
Kelsey Coley won the 100m hurdles, finishing in 14.07 seconds to break the program record and become the UAA champion in the event. In the 400m hurdles,
Megan Taylor represented the Eagles at the top of the podium with a time of 1:03.74. Rounding out the winners is
Jackie Chapman who claimed the discus title with a 44.01m throw.
The field events began with the triple jump where
Amaya Grant came in third place with a 11.35m mark.
Elsa Bildtsen also claimed a top ten spot, coming in ninth with a 10.72m mark.
The discus saw two Eagles on the podium as
Caroline Henry joined Chapman, throwing for 42.76m to come in second.
The field events concluded with the high jump where
Jada Clarke tied for fourth with a 1.57m performance while Taylor delivered a 1.52m jump to finish in eighth.
The track events began with the 4x100m relay where Coley, Grant,
Jada Kenner and
Anna Jennings took second place with a time of 47.43 seconds.
In the 1500,
Madison Tiaffay came in fifth at 4:38.92 while
Payton Fleming took ninth at 4:43.13.
Taylor came in behind Coley in the 100m hurdles, finishing at 14.91 seconds to claim second place.
Campbell Fennell also placed in the top five, taking fourth at 15.22 seconds to run her PR.
In the 400m, Grant came in 7
th at 57.82 seconds while Riley came in at 58.59 seconds to finish in ninth.
The 100m saw another podium finish for the Eagles as Kenner ran for 11.81 seconds to place second in the event. Jennings also placed in the top ten, coming in eighth at 12.61 seconds.
In the 800m, Jalloh claimed a podium spot with a 2:10.62 to take second.
Payton Sullivan and Tiaffay also placed in the top ten, taking sixth and seventh at times over the 2:20 mark.
Coley came in behind Taylor in the 400m hurdles, coming in second place at 1:04.06.
Sophia Deeney also placed in the top ten, taking sixth at 1:06.19.
In the 200m, Kenner was the lone Eagle as she ran for 32.88 seconds to take eighth.
The 5000m saw
Elizabeth Csikai place in the top ten, taking seventh with a time of 17:28.60.
The final track event of the day was the 4x400 relay where the team of
Laura Jablonover, Riley,
Sarah Nixon and Jalloh claimed a third place podium spot with a time of 3:56.42.
The Eagles will be back on the track in two weeks for the Emory Twilight meet on May 6.
