The Emory men's track and field team concluded competition at the UAA Outdoor Championships this afternoon, finishing in second place with 198.5 points.
WashU won the team championship with 221 points and UChicago rounded out the top three with 113.5 points.
The second day of competition saw four wins from the Eagles as
Henry Brandstadter won the 100m and 200m races with times of 10.51 and 21.61 seconds. Brandstadter also delivered a win in the high jump with a 2.03m performance while
Ethan Lu claimed top honors in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 54 seconds flat to win the event.
The field events began with the javelin where
Chris Summey and
Alexander Osterman each placed in the top ten, throwing for 53.51 and 48.64m respectively to take fourth and ninth.
The triple jump saw a trio of Eagles compete as
Sam Gouvalaris took ninth,
Jacob Kim claimed tenth and
Marco Souchet took 11
th with marks under 13.48m.Â
In the discus,
Ari Klasky was the top Eagle with a 42.55m throw to finish in third place.
The track events began with the 4x100 relay where the team of
Blake Jackson,
Joshua Han,
Noah Chang and Brandstadter came in second place with a 41.64 second finish.
In the 1500,
Ryan Van de Berghe was the lone Eagle as he finished at 3:55.12 to take sixth place.
The 110m hurdles saw three Eagles place in the top five as Chang came in second at 14.49 seconds,
Ethan Lu finished in third at 14.68 seconds and
Sebastian Kou landed in fourth with a 14.77 second finish.
In the 400m,
Ryan McGonigle claimed a podium spot with a 48.86 second finish to claim third. Jackson and Han also placed in the top ten, taking sixth and eighth with times over 49 seconds.
Kofi Igyan finished behind Brandstadter in the 100, running for 10.80 seconds to come in fifth.
The 800m race had three Eagles in the top ten, with
Brendan Conniff earning a podium spot with a time of 1:54.87 to take second.
In the 200m, Igyan and
Lucas Mersky finished behind Brandstadter as they took fifth and sixth respectively with times over the 21 second mark.
The event ended with the 4x400 relay where Jackson,
Andrew Burchett, Mersky and McGonigle came in second place with a time of 3:16.35.
The Eagles will be back on the track in two weeks for the Emory Twilight meet on May 6.
