The Emory men's track and field team began competition at the UAA Outdoor Championships Saturday, ending the day in fourth place with 36 points.
The field events began with the men's long jump as
Henry Brandstadter claimed the UAA championship with a 6.99m performance.
Branson Adams and
Marco Souchet also placed in the top ten, taking eighth and tenth with 6.59 and 6.44m marks.
In the shot put, sophomore
Ari Klasky made the podium, finishing in second with a  16.52m throw.
Rohan Vasandani also placed in the top ten, coming in tenth with a 12.95m effort.
The field events ended with the pole vault where
Steven Ditelberg took 11
th with a 4.33m finish while
Robert Bright finished in 12
th with a 4.18m performance.
The track finals events began with the 3000m steeplechase where freshmen
Logan Clark and
Zach Glover took seventh and eighth with times of 9:38.32 and 9:49.41 respectively.
The 4x800 relay team also competed in finals Saturday afternoon, with the team of
Dalton Lowery,
Ryan McGonigle, Amos Pres and
Michael Versaci taking third with a time of 7:47.74.
The prelims began with the 110m hurdles where
Ethan Lu,
Noah Chang and
Sebastian Kou all qualified for tomorrow's final with times above 14.80 seconds.
In the 400m prelim, McGonigle ran for 48.71 seconds to come in second while
Noah Chang and
Sebastian Kou took third and seventh to qualify for finals.
In the 100m,
Henry Brandstadter came in first to automatically qualify for finals while
Kofi Igyan ran a PR at 10.88 seconds to qualify.
The 800m saw three Eagles qualify for finals as
Ryan Van de Berghe came in first with a 1:52.86 while
Brendan Conniff and
Andrew Burchett took third and seventh with times over the 1:53 mark.
In the 400m hurdles prelim, Lu and Kou took first and second with times just over the 54 second mark to qualify for tomorrow's final.
To round out the day, three Eagles qualified for finals in the 200m as Brandstadter,
Lucas Mersky and Igyan all ran times over 21 seconds.
The Eagles will compete in the finals tomorrow, with events beginning at 9:00 a.m.
