The Emory University baseball team finished its weekend in Chicago on Sunday morning, falling to the Maroons 15-5 in seven innings.
The Eagles saw their scoring come during their first two trips to the plate including a four-run first inning. Senior Adrien Armstrong launched a three-inning home run as part of Emory's scoring binge with classmate Nick Sullo working a bases-loaded walk.
Senior Cam Newell added a run-scoring single in the second to give the Eagles a 5-1 lead in the early stages.
The Maroons though countered with crooked frames in the second and third with eight runners coming around to score to give UChicago a 9-5 lead through three full innings.
Chicago added four more runs in the fifth before tacking on two additional runs in the seventh to provided the 10-run margin.
Despite five runs coming home over the first two innings, the Eagles saw just three runners reach base over the final five innings as UC completed the weekend sweep.
Emory will look to halt its current six-game skid next weekend at home when the Eagles will host Brandeis University. Game one in Atlanta is set for 3:00 PM ET on Friday at Chappell Park.
