The Eagles competed at the Tufts Final Qualifier Saturday afternoon, delivering five top five performances on the day in their final meet before the NCAA Indoor Championships.
On the women's side competition began with the 60m hurdles, where rookie
Kelsey Coley delivered another stellar performance as she took first clocking in at 8.85.
In the 4000m distance medley relay, the team of
Payton Fleming,
Aaliyah Jalloh,
Hannah Riley and
Madison Tiaffay came in fourth with a time of 11:48.92.
Rounding out the track events was the 4x400 relay where
Amaya Grant, Riley,
Laura Jablonover and Jalloh helped the Eagles claim second with a 3:51.22.Â
The Eagles had a single competitor in the women's field events, with Grant securing a second-place finish in the triple jump with an 11.51m effort.
The men's team had a lone individual competitor on the track side of the competition with
Ryan McGonigle delivering a tenth-place finish in the 800m with a time of 1:55.30.
In the men's 4000m distance medley relay,
John Urciuoli, McGonigle,
Brendan Conniff and
Ryan Van de Berghe earned a top ten finish as they finished at 9:55.18.Â
In the field events, sophomore
Ari Klasky put up another top three performance in the shot put as he threw for 16.29m.
The Eagles will head back to Birmingham next weekend for the NCAA Indoor Championships, with competition beginning on Friday. The list of qualifiers will be released Sunday night on NCAA.com.Â
