Four Emory University student-athletes were named University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of March 16-22.

Senior Ben Pearce propelled men's basketball to its first-ever appearance in the national championship game with a stellar performance in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Pearce averaged 21 points, 5.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds as the Eagles defeated Illinois Wesleyan and Christopher Newport on their way to Indianapolis. In addition, Pearce made perhaps the biggest shot in Emory basketball history on Thursday when he sank the game-winning three-pointer with 1.4 seconds left to topple the Titans of IWU in the Elite Eight.

Freshman Xinyi Zheng claimed the individual title at the Jekyll Island Collegiate over the weekend, shooting a 216 (E) to win and help the Eagles place second in the team standings. The freshman also stayed at the top of the leaderboard through all three rounds.

Freshman Jackie Chapman took third in the discus at Emory's first outdoor meet of the season, throwing for 43.28m in her outdoor collegiate debut amongst a crowded field of Division I and II athletes. 

Junior Ellie Zerr had a dominant weekend at the plate, scoring eight runs in three games to help the Eagles run-rule Brandeis twice to open conference play with a series sweep. In Emory's 15-4 run-rule win over the Judges, Zerr went 5-5, plating four RBI along with a two-run homer.
