The Eagles competed at the Tryon Last Chance College Meet Friday afternoon, earning eight top three placements on the day.
The meet was highlighted by wins from sophomores
Ari Klasky and
Jeanette Hydukovich in the shot put, with Hydukovich earning her PR as well.
Starting things off on the men's side with the long jump, freshman
Branson Adams claimed sixth place with a 6.74m jump, earning his PR. Classmate
Marco Souchet followed suit, taking ninth with a 6.58m.
In the weight throw, Klasky earned second place with his 16.16m throw, while junior
Rohan Vasandani placed 15
th with a mark of 11.03m.
 Following that was the triple jump where sophomore
Sam Gouvalaris led the Eagles, finishing in seventh place with a 13.90m jump. A trio of Eagles rounded things out as
Jacob Kim,
Ryan Coleman and Souchet took 10-12
th place with marks ranging from 13.50-13.20m.
The men's field competition finished with the shotput, where Klasky took first place for the Eagles with a 15.71m throw. Vasandani also claimed a top ten spot, earning seventh place and his PR with a 13.12m throw.
The women's side of the competition began with weight throw, as newcomer
Caroline Henry led the team with a second-place finish thanks to her 14.74m effort. Sophomore
Abigail Roberts came in next, taking third with a 13.67m throw, tying her PR. Classmates
Sarah Watson and
Janelle Bobb also placed in the top ten, earning sixth and seventh respectively with their 12.14m and 11.45m throws.
In the long jump, sophomore
Anna Jennings claimed a spot in the top three with her 5.40m jump. Rookie
Megan Taylor also placed in the top ten, earning sixth place with her 5.17m effort.
Following that was the triple jump where sophomore
Amaya Grant took the third-place spot with a 11.33m jump, earning the new 28
th best mark in Division III. Upperclassmen
Elsa Bildtsen finished close behind, placing fifth with a 10.89m jump.
The women's team shined in the shotput, ending the meet on a high note as Hydukovich took first overall with a 12.51m throw, hitting her PR and earning the new 65
th best mark in Division III. A trio of Eagles finished out the top five as Henry, sophomore
Jackie Chapman and Bobb placed third through fifth with marks from 11.43-10.71m, with Bobb earning her seasons best with the 10.71m mark.
The Eagles will head to Waltham, MA next weekend for the UAA Indoor Championships, with competition beginning at noon on Saturday, February 28.
