Emory Track and Field had a stellar first day of the Centre Indoor Invitational, taking wins in the men's and women's 4000m distance medley relays.
On the women's side, the group of
Payton Fleming,
Aaliyah Jalloh,
Hannah Riley and
Amaya Grant took the top spot with a time of 12:13.20. The second group, including
Elise Picard,
Payton Sullivan,
Ryleigh O'Donnell and
Davis Johnson, was close behind as they claimed second place with a time of 12:40.09.
In the men's 4000m distance medley relay, the Eagles swept the podium taking the top three spots. The grouping of
John Urciuoli,
Brendan Conniff,
Ryan McGonigle and
Ryan Van de Berghe took first with a time of 10:07.73. In second place was
Michael Versaci,
Andrew Burchett,
Jack Mulhauser and
Logan Clark, clocking in at 10:31.50. Rounding things out for the Eagles was
Dalton Lowery,
Cooper Harwood,
Zach Glover and
Nikhil Makker, coming in third place with a time of 10:39.65.
The Eagles will be back on the track tomorrow for day two, with competition beginning at 10:00 a.m.
