Emory University Men's Basketball Head Coach Jason Zimmerman was named the HoopDirt.com Division III Coach of the Week Tuesday morning. Zimmerman was previously honored with the national Hoop Dirt selection on January 23, 2023.

This past week, Zimmerman's Eagles secured two overtime wins over nationally ranked teams including No. 1 Chicago at home. The No. 7 ranked Eagles bounced back following a 0-2 week on the road with a redemption weekend against WashU and the Maroons. Against the Bears on Friday, Emory trailed by seven with just over three minutes remaining but was able to force overtime and eventually pull out an 81-72 victory. Back in action against top-ranked Chicago on Sunday, the Eagles again found themselves trailing in the second half – this time by 13 with just over 15 minutes remaining. Again, they were able to fight back and force overtime, where they emerged with a thrilling 97-94 win. With the victories, Emory moved to 16-3 overall and 6-2 in the UAA – just a half-game behind Chicago for the conference lead.

Following the overtime wins, the Eagles moved to No. 1 in the NCAA NPI rankings as well as No. 5 in the D3hoops.com national rankings.

The Eagles will remain at home for matchups with Brandeis and No. 22 NYU this coming weekend.
