Mikayla Camp's Brace Leads #21 Women's Soccer Past Brandeis, 2-0

The No. 21 ranked Emory University women's soccer team battled the elements Friday night to secure a 2-0 win over Brandeis University at the Woodruff PE Center in Atlanta.

With the rain falling throughout the night from the incoming Hurricane Isaias, the Eagles were led by junior Mikayla Camp who registered a two-goal performance to help Emory improve to 8-1-3 on the season and 1-1 inside UAA action while the defeat drops the Judges to 6-4-1 and 0-2 in conference play.

Camp found the back of the net twice five minutes apart in the middle of the second half to power the Eagles to the conference victory.

In the 59th minute, Camp broke the scoreless draught with a header following a Kaitlyn Nimmer corner kick and later doubled the Emory advantage in the 64th minute with a strike following two excellent passes by senior Madison Teng and sophomore Sophia Asiain.

The Emory defense provided the remaining support as the backline allowed just five shots on goal (seven shots total) and just one attempt across the final 45 minutes. In the contest, Emory outshot the Judges 34-7 and had a 14-5 shots on goal margin.

The Eagles will close out the non-conference slate Monday afternoon as No. 7 Colby College visits Atlanta for an afternoon showdown.
