#21 Women's Soccer Secures Third Consecutive Shutout; Handles #7 Colby, 2-0

The No. 21 ranked Emory University women's soccer team closed out the non-conference slate in style Monday afternoon, taking down No. 7 ranked Colby College in the battle of the top 25 programs at the Woodruff PE Center in Atlanta.

The Eagles secured their third straight shutout with a convincing victory over the Mules and improved to 9-1-3 on the season while Colby dropped to 8-3-1 with Monday's result.

Emory did its damage early in the first half with a pair of shots finding the back of the net within the opening 21 minutes of action.

Senior Madison Teng was the first to find the scoring column with an absolute rocket off her left foot from distance, going top middle for her third goal of the season and giving the Eagles a 1-0 edge in the eighth minute.

In the 21st minute, junior Mikayla Camp continued her recent torrid stretch as she registered her sixth goal of the year with a close-range attempt, knocking in a Katie Hungness' offering after the pass bounced over a Colby defender and found Camp inside the box where she finished to the right post.

The two goals were all the Emory defense needed as the Eagles' backline limited the Mules to seven shots in the game, including only one in the second half, to clinch the shutout. Senior Rachel Carr posted four saves for the clean sheet.

The Eagles will return to UAA action on Saturday as the team travels to Montclair, New Jersey to take on No. 24 ranked NYU.
