Women's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw with NYU in Top 25 Matchup

The No. 22 ranked Emory University women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw with No. 21 ranked NYU Saturday afternoon at Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey.

The draw was the Eagles' fourth of the season as they move to 9-1-4 overall and 1-1-1 inside UAA play with the result, while the Violets go to 4-2-5 on the season and 0-1-2 inside conference action.

Emory had the advantage in the shots department with a 14-4 edge as well as a 5-1 margin in shots on goal but could not get the decisive goal. Senior Kaitlyn Nimmer and sophomore Sophia Asiain both tallied three shots each to pace the Eagles with Asiain being one of five Eagles to notch one shot on frame during the contest.

The Eagles' backline limited the Violets to just two shots in each half with senior Rachel Carr making the save on the lone shot that came her way in the first half. The shutout was the team's fourth in a row and eighth on the season.

Emory will continue its road swing next weekend with two more top-25 matchups on deck with No. 13 UChicago and No. 1 WashU.
