Emory Track and Field freshman
Megan Taylor represented the Eagles in the Pentathlon at the Samford Invitational, competing in 60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and the 800m over the course of the day and ending in 8
th place overall in a field of 20 athletes with 3,008 points.
Beginning the day with the 60m hurdles, Taylor clocked in at 9.89, putting her in 14
th place for the event. She followed that with a solid performance in the high jump, going over at 1.54m to come .1m short of her 1.55m performance at the Birmingham Indoor Icebreaker this past December to land in 8
th place.
In the shotput, the freshman had a 9.52m throw to put her in 10
th place in the event. Taylor also found herself in 10
th place in the long jump with her mark of 4.95m, coming just short of her 4.99m mark from the Birmingham Indoor Icebreaker.
The freshman closed things out with the 800m, where she found herself in 10
th with a place for the event with a time of 2:40.66.
The Eagles will be back on the track tomorrow for day two of the Samford Invitational, with competition beginning at 11:00 a.m.
